A Rocking Horse is an heirloom of timeless beauty, for centuries they have held a dominant place, both in the nursery and the minds of children and adults alike. Their prominence grew particularly during the Victorian and Edwardian era, holding pride of place with families of the rich and famous. 

The horses are made from a variety of hardwoods, both British and foreign and are handfinished and polished to enhance the beauty of the wood. 

WALNUT:
A tree that might well be referred to as the aristocrat of the woodlands because of the regal quality of the timber it yields. 

OAK:
Very few Englishmen are not familiar with the richness and durability of oak,its strength has meant its use in furniture and ecclesiastical woodwork, has been renowned for centuries. 

CHERRY:
The wild cherry provides a slightly scented golden brown timber, which is much valued for high class furniture. 

MAHOGANY:
The excellence of this timber was recognized as long ago as the Spanish colonization of the new world, because of its beautiful rich appearance, it has been a favourite of the cabinet maker for over a century.
